Goal-Setting

Question: Do you you set small, easy goals or big, hairy, audacious ones?
I've found I progress the best by setting B-HAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals).
Why? Because I have found numerous weak spots during my time with CrossFit that need to be improved upon. If I don't work on them, they'll never improve.
If I'm more worried about "looking good" in the gym, than making solid, measureable progress, I've already sabotaged myself.
By working on my weakest areas, they can become strengths. So can yours!
After achieving my goal of pressing a 106lb kettlebell for my 58th birthday, I have set the goals of being able to do a pullup with it attached by a chain to my waist by Jan. 1, 2009. Also, I am shooting for a one-legged squat aka "pistol" with the same weight.
I'm starting with a weight I can do 5 reps with reasonably well, then adding weight and reducing reps as I move through the workout.
Each week I want to add 5 lbs to my pullup weight, and that will put me at 100+ lbs by Jan. 1.
Here's a short video of my humble start on this journey.
