For many people, myself included, using a power rack is a real hassle at first.
Everything seems off balance & cramped, right?
I have found that using the rack when everything is set correctly can be much safer for new lifters (especially when you are doing a lot of reps).
Is it still frustrating? YES! You bet bit is, but it is necessary.
More experienced lifters may want to just use the squat racks instead, which is fine, with one exception you need experienced spotters.
Many people are willing to spot you but don't know how to do it right or well.
The bench press has caused more injuries in gyms across the USA than just about any other exercise, so use good judgement if you decide to not use the power rack.
Happy lifting :)
