For many, the true significance of this day is foggy at best.
It's Independence Day, and on that day in 1776 some brave, visionary men signed a document that put all of their lives at risk: The Declaration of Independence.
Basically, withdrawing officially from the British Empire, tensions rose quickly and war followed.
Since that year, many have sacrificed to keep this country free.
Let's not forget what it's all about this weekend.
It's great to get together with family and friends to celebrate, but maybe a little history lesson is in order.
