I love training people with guts! People who are under no illusions about how far they have to go, yet still tackle the situation head on are rare these days. We have those kind of people here at my gym, and I find great satisfaction in working with them.
Many people simply give up when life, family, work, etc. seem to get overwhelming and completely let their health go. That is the worst course of action (I should say inaction) because weakness benefits no one.
Being unable to physically do basic things due to total neglect is shameful at best.
Except for the most extreme medical issues, most anyone can be healthy, fit, & strong.
They must decide to take action, then validate that decision through consistent training, eating a clean diet, getting enough sleep, hydrating well, and handling their life stresses in a good way.
None of these are easy things to do, but they are all "do-able" if you have the courage it takes.
