I don't know who said that originally, but it's a good one.
This Memorial Day, many people are thinking about our troops.
They should be! That goes for every day of the year, not just today.
Because they are prepared, others do not have to panic.
They are often times training or fighting throughout the night, you get to sleep all night.
They are away from their loved ones for long periods of time, so you don't have to be.
They may die or become severely injured while very young.
All the while others get to enjoy the benefits of their vigilance and courage.
I know many veterans don't expect a thank you from anyone, but they should still hear it often.
My Dad fought in the Pacific during World War II, and always just said he was doing his job.
He never considered himself a hero (I considered him one though).
You might be in the presence of a true hero today, take some time to look around you.
Listen well to others, and you might be amazed at who is standing right next to you.
