News story to be done on our gym

Those of you who regularly train here who would like to help demonstrate our type of training for a news story, please see Frank for details.
You don't have to "be perfect" for this, just do your best, like you always do.
We'd like to have 4-6 people for this.
Thanks!

The Girls are Ready!
The Raw Unity Powerlifting Championships was created in 2007 as a way for the best raw lifters in the United States to come together under one roof to compete under a common set of rules to see who is the strongest in each weight class. In order to avoid federation politics, the Raw Unity Meet always has been and always will be unsanctioned. All lifters from all federations are welcomed. There is only one division for the Raw Unity Powerlifting Championships: Open.

EA is proud to announce that three of our ladies have qualified to compete in this years 2010 RAW Unity Meet. Lindsay Wright, Sarina Woodworth & Presley Lynch will be representing EA and competing with hundreds of powerliftings top lifters from around the country.

We encourage all our members to take the trip on Jan. 30th, 2010 to help support and cheer on our girls at the RAW Unity Powerlifting Championships. The meet will be held at:

Jackson Springs Rec. Center Tampa
8620 Jacson Springs Rd. Tampa

So long, Chris!

One of our very best athletes, Chris Harris, has relocated due to his work.
Chris is an extremely dedicated & accomplished athlete and a man of integrity.
I believe that he is very capable of winning the 2010 CrossFit Games, and hope that he does.
He is one of tremendous athletes who got started at CrossFit Gulf Coast, and we are honored to be part of is success.

Late payment fees are now in effect

A while ago, we got rid of the late fees for those who were chronically late in paying for their training; however, since the problem has gotten worse we have re-instated them.
Here's how it works:

1) Payment by the 1st of each month is required
2) Payment on or after the 5th of the month will incur a $20 late late fee
3)If people paid on time this would not be necessary

Also, we have had problems with people giving us bad checks
This is also not going to be allowed
Here's the deal on that

1)Bounce one check, and you will owe the amount of the check plus $20
2)Bounce a second check, the above applies, plus you will be have to pay by debit card, credit card, or cash in the future

If you are having financial problems, talk to me about it to arrange a solution.

Strongman

He’s been called the modern-day Paul Anderson. Maybe that’s because he has squatted 1,000 lbs. with just a belt from the bottom position of the rack. (If you’ve never tried bottom position squats it’s a whole lot harder.)

He’s pressed over 300 lbs, done a situp with 400lbs and I could go on and on.

But you know he’s not just all brute strength. In fact he has incredible endurance too. We’re talking about thousands of reps in pushups, squats, kettlebells swings and much more.

Even that just scratches the surface.

He’s a man who has taken all kinds of training and combined them together. Really taking the best of all tools and methods to build super human strength and endurance.

He’s just launched a new site to help teach you how he’s done this all and how you can to.

Strongerman Productions website

This will be one site you should be sure to pay attention to.

Check it out now and be sure to sign up to grab the brand new interview.

You’ll find out how Bud has lost 100 lbs. How he continually combines building maximum strength along with conditioning, with sample workouts, and tons more details.

I know Bud personally, and recommend his training resources very highly!

P.S. Definitely check out his Twisted Conditioning to discover how you can really get on the path to both incredible strength and endurance.

Great sandbag exercise

Some of you know Bud Jeffries, since he's been here a few times.
Check out this exercise (guess who'll have fun with this next).

A season of change

Some of our friends have returned, and others have moved away.
Trent is back from college and is hitting some big lifts!
Of course, we've learned to expect that from him.
Laura, our best female Olympic lifter, has moved back to Maryland to get get her Masters Degree. We wish her the very best up there.
She will be missed!
We have a couple of guys coming in from various parts of the world on leave from the military.
It's good to see people want to return here over and over again, no matter where they live.
They are CrossFit Gulf Coast Alumni for life :)

We need lots more donations for the Fort Hood Memorial Fundraiser

A big "thank you" to those who have already donated!

Please support this very worthy cause if you have not done so already.
In addition to losing some of America's finest soldiers, 4 of those killed and 11 of those wounded were CrossFit athletes.
Surely you can help at least with a few bucks, right?
You donate now at the top right side of this page.
Thank you for your generosity!
