Cave Strong--Don't put limits on your training
I had the opportunity to get involved with CrossFit, before it was cool, way back in 2005.
Actually, I found it in 2004, but didn't start training until the next year.
I stayed on the message board, and learned everything I could as I was investigating , then took the plunge.
My wife and I flew to the original CrossFit in Santa Cruz, CA and spent 3 days under the instruction of Coach Greg Glassman. Being the leader that he is, I remember him talking about someday someone would be better at some aspect of training than we were. He said we'll learn from them and incorporate it into CrossFit. He stressed "broad, general, and inclusive" fitness; learning and growing continually.
I knew that was a very insightful approach.
Years later, I was watching Dave Castro on a video talking about learning from credible non-CrossFit coaches. In fact, he encouraged it.
Westside Barbell is a good example. Now, AJ Roberts teaches powerlifting seminars for CrossFit.
How cool is that?
Strongman training was added through Rob Orlando, which was great!
Other notable coaches, like Zach Even-Esh, Jeff Martone, George Ryan, Brian MacKenzie to name a few have all influenced CrossFit over the ears in a very positive way.
We incorporate all these various elements of training at our CrossFit gym.
I refuse to put limitations on our training!

Cave Strong--overview of our seminars since 2007
Just
thinking back about the seminars I have had at my gym over the years,
with non-CrossFit coaches, and what came out of them.
We hosted a few excellent CrossFit Certs. also, with Jeff Martone /CrossFit Kettlebell and George Ryan/ CrossFit Striking, which were excellent.
When I did our first Strongman seminar with Tom Mitchell in 2007, we only had a handful of athletes attend, Elliott Hulse and Ryan Magin were there.
When we hosted Bud Jeffries and Scott Weech, still only a handful attended. One was Josh Martin who now owns CrossFit For Glory.
When we hosted Dave Schmitz same thing, only a few showed for that excellent event.
When we hosted John Brookfield, the founder of Battling Ropes, just a few athletes/coaches were there, like Julio Anta & Bud Jeffries.
When we hosted Rich Lansky, same thing. The numbers have always been low, but the quality of those who attended has been exceptional.
When we hosted Sincere Hogan, only a few attended to learn from him.
When we hosted Aly Willier, same thing again.
Same with Chuck & Vanessa Bennington ( who are on the CrossFit Seminar Instructor Team).
The same thing happened with Iron Brawl today, a handful of dedicated athletes were there who will dominate their competition over the course of time.
Carlos "Bar-Bender" Gonzalez already holds an RPS record for Masters Deadlift, and Chris Manco will also make his presence know in competition in the near future.
Tom Mitchell once said, in his Strongman manual, that many could be that strong, but most don't want to work that hard. He was right!
I'll always be thrilled to work with the "dedicated, coachable few".
They listen and they know what work really means!

The Cave Strong Difference
The Cave is for those who truly want to become as radically strong. Strength
drives all human movement. Nothing works without strength.
The Cave is not for those who want to "say they do CrossFit" because it's cool.
The Cave is not cookie-cutter style CrossFit, we don't look like other CF gyms, we don't train like them either, though we still do metcons & amraps, etc. There is so much more that needs to be done to achieve true strength.
There are some very good CrossFit gyms around, and I know the coaches personally. I respect them for what they do; however, we are on a different path.
The Cave is the Cave, not just another CF box. Our expression of CrossFit is different from most.

Wow! Our "two week free trial" took off like crazy!
There are some very smart folks out there, they know a good deal when they see one!
Getting 2 weeks free at the Cave is quite a deal!
The way we train brings very noticeable results. Strength, fat loss, and cardio all get better for those who do the work..
There is still time to get in on this great deal. Offer ends Aug. 31, 2013. See our training schedule here, and take action today!
