Watch for our new workouts on Tues. & Thurs.
The weather is getting just right for some outdoor wokouts.
We'll be doing a series of impromptu, short-notice workouts at different places around our area.
Some might be at the beach or a park or ..............?
Here's the catch: you have to come to the gym to find out where they are and when.
We'll be doing some really fun outdoor stuff to get you even more fit!
You snooze, you lose!

Brian "enjoying" his vacation in Sarasota
Renee had a strong training partner this morning!
Brian will be remembered as the "Beast from the Northeast", because he trains with so much intensity! He also has a good sense of humor, which he showed during our Saturday Morning Detox Workout

Velocity versus Momentum
John Brookfield Bio - John Brookfield is a multiple world record holder who has been seen on television programs such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, Regis and Kathie Lee and the Vicki Lawrence Show. John has also been listed in Ripley's Believe it or Not and the Guinness Book of World Records. John has also authored several books including the popular Mastery of Hand Strength.
The Battling Ropes training system is a one of a kind training system that forces the user to train by sustaining velocity instead of momentum. Velocity training is the combination of strength and speed together. So the user gets not only stronger but also faster as well. The results of training with velocity allows the user to train or compete at a higher level of intensity for a longer duration of time. The Battling Ropes can be implemented safely by the individual or used in a group or team concept. There are actually seven different concepts to the Battling Ropes training system. The first element being sustained velocity which is the foundation of the training system. After using the Battling Ropes training for awhile the user can except these results.
1- increased power endurance
2- increased strength endurance
3- increased anaerobic and aerobic capacity
4- increased strength and speed
5- increased grip strength
6- increased reaction time
7- increased mental edurance

Ropes will be another alternative to running
With the addition of Battling Ropes training to our gym, we have found another great exercise that can be a substitute for running.
Those of you who have already tried them found out how hard the rope work is already.
We still expect those that can run during the WODs to still run.
If the weather is really bad (a hard rain, temperatures below 45 degrees, etc.) even the runners get to stay inside and do rope work. WooHoo!!
